REDEMPTION FELLOWSHIP CORE VALUES
- 1. Gospel- The gospel is the ultimate message of good news. It is good because it describes the power of God as he changes sinful hearts. The gospel is powerful because our Triune God is rescuing fallen desperate sinners. The gospel of grace changes everything. People whom God is angry at are changed through the substitutionary sacrifical work of Jesus Christ. Through this work we become God’s friends,are adopted into God’s family with privileges that help us start to become whole. The gospel when received by grace through faith radically alters the direction of sinners providing salvation,and new desires to say yes to God’s word. Because the gospel changes us, we will be different people than we were without it. It affects every aspect of our lives from the moment we get saved till we go up to heaven to be with our great God forever. It points to a God who is in control of the affairs of man. To say we love the gospel is to say we love our Triune God and are willing to submit to his authoritative words found in the bible. The gospel is the ultimate treasure and hope that we will share. - 2. Community- The gospel creates a new community of people who are willing to live life together under the authority of Jesus Christ and his word. This means whatever he says goes. We will be a community that welcomes all ethnicities ages and backgrounds. As diverse as Fall River is, so must we be willing to be. Since Jesus cared and died for all types of people, we shall be willing to give ourselves for all types of people. Therefore our agendas must be properly ordered. Our goal is to unite everyone under the cross of Jesus Christ. We are able to love each other and the community around us at large. Combinations of old and young, rich and poor, all different shades loving on each other!! What a glorious sight. As we commit ourselves to the gospel genuine friendship will follow and will mark our lives. It is here that we will grow together and help each other fight against the deceitfulness of sin individually and corporately. It is here we encourage one another to love and good deeds. - 3. Mission- In Christ we now purpose to be on mission with God. God receives glory not only in his creation but also through people who learn to treasure him more than anything else. It is amazing.. We will share and care for those in our neighborhood, workplaces, teams, clubs and social organizations. We desire to help people think well about life. We will encourage every person, who determines to live together, to take this message through Fall River to Southeastern New England and beyond. We are all missionaries purposing to bring God glory. Our commission is to make disciples of all nations. This will be done as we purpose to love others in the power of the Spirit that God provides his followers. We want to extend God’s reign to the North, South, East, and West as he provides us with everything we need for this great commission. This is ultimately a great privilege as we co-labor with like minded individuals and churches.
